About Chiropractic

Chiropractic is the third largest health care profession in the United States behind Medicine and Dentistry.  All Chiropractic physicians must pass rigorous national and state board licensing exams after completing an accredited 4 year chiropractic program before practicing.  It is a natural drug-free, non surgical approach to health care.

Chiropractic works because you are a self-healing, self regulating organism controlled by your nervous system.  There are millions of messages sent from your brain, down the spinal cord and out to every organ and tissue.  Messages sent back to the brain confirm that your body is working right.  Improper motion or position of the moving bones caused by years of poor posture, mircotrauma, repetitive strain, or from a major trauma of the spine and other joints in the body called a subluxation can interfere with this vital exchange by irritating nerves and compromising function of affected organs and tissues.  In addition to doing a thorough history and physical exam, Chiropractors are trained to evaluate for these subluxations and remove them by doing specific adjustments to the spine and extremities to improve mind/body communications.  Health often returns with improved nervous control of the body.
