Neck & Shoulder Pain

Almost half the people we see in our office have neck pain and associated shoulder pain!

It's really no mystery.......... many jobs today are rather sedentary where people work at a desk or sit at their computer all day.

It's no wonder this is a common sight :

badergo

Think of your head as a bowling ball sitting on a thick dense rope......., with the force of gravity acting on your body ALL DAY LONG  and you being stuck to your desk........ one doesn't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that your neck as well as the rest of your postural muscles really have to work hard to keep THAT BOWLING BALL of ours on straight.

If you add this to the fact that many people:

  1. Don't take enough breaks and rest their postural muscles by getting up and stretching
  2. Don't have sufficient support and proper ergonomics at their desk/workstation
  3. Have previous injuries due to sports or car accidents.
  4. Have poor sleep posture or improper pillow support

YOU have a RECIPE for CHRONIC NECK PAIN...........

which can be a direct or indirect cause of SHOULDER PAIN as well.

Of the many causes of neck pain..... like back pain their are several that are the most common:

  • Biomechanical joint issues
  • Muscle imbalances and associated problems
  • Soft tissue problems (disc bulges & herniations )
  • Organic issues (organ diseases, etc.)

Neck pain may also be a symptom of degenerative joint or degenerative disc disease in your spine!

Of the most common causes of neck pain, muscle imbalances as well as soft tissue problems can cause radiating symptoms into your SHOULDER causing you to  experience shoulder pain!

In the worst cases.........., it may even cause numbness, tingling and weakness into your arm as well as hand!

Some preventative things you can do to PROACTIVELY limit the chances of you developing neck pain is to take care of #1-4 as stated above!!!!

In the meantime........................

 DON'T WAIT....... get evaluated TODAY!
