Your First Visit

If you are new to Chiropractic, I've felt that it's really important for you to know and find out what to expect.

Maybe you've tried A LOT of DIFFERENT things that didn't work or didn't meet your expectations or maybe you were just curious about Chiropractic and whether or not it would be beneficial or helpful for you condition.........., or maybe you've had care in the past and you're new to the area and you're looking for a new office to work with.

WHATEVER the case may be, we genuinely want to be a resource for you and we appeciate the privilege of working with you.  In most cases, we can make a huge difference in improving your quality of life but, If we can't help, we'll certainly do our best to find another professional who can!

HERE'S WHAT TO EXPECT!.......

First of all WE RESPECT YOUR TIME! One thing you'll notice is that waiting for any length of time in our office is rare. You can expect to be seen rather quickly and YOU CAN EXPECT US to be very THOROUGH!

Every office may have a little different approach but, at University Chiropractic your first visit for Chiropractic care is strictly an investigative FACT finding appointment.

 During this appointment we'll:

  • Find out your primary complaint and take a thorough past health history
  • Based on your complaint we'll do a full evaluation which includes several orthopedic/neurological/chiropractic specific tests to pinpoint your problem
  • Next we'll do a surface EMG scan to measure the areas of your body that exhibits increased muscle tension.  It'll look like this thermascan.......

  • If necessary we'll then take spinal x-rays to assess for new or old trauma, degenerative joint disease, disc disease or instability.  Or we'll refer you for advanced imaging if needed (MRI, CT, etc.).
  • We'll then schedule you for a 2nd appointment where we can go over all your clinical findings and present a recommended action plan for your condition.

This approach may vary based on your condition and whether or not you're coming in for a consultation for the DRX program (in which case, we prefer that you come in with your most current MRI - if you haven't had one, we can certainly refer you to a local imaging center).
